Mesothelioma is a type of deadly cancer caused by exposure to asbestos and the number of newly diagnosed patients continues to rise each year.  The disease itself derives its name from the fact that it causes the mesothelium, the fragile lining of the lungs, heart, and intestines, to mutate into cancer.
